5th Graders have learned several more verbs and completed restaurant skits since our trip to Mexican Town. (GRACIAS again to all the volunteers and thanks for a great trip!) They’re definitely ready for this test!
ASSESSMENT DATES (that students have been told of since last week):
PARDINGTON & THOMAS – Wednesday, January 10
O’ROURKE – Friday, January 12
What to study?
I’ve shown students 3 pages in class to review from (breakfast/drink vocab. page, food vocab page, and verb chart page).
They may also study with the games at: http://www.quia.com/jg/1948169.html
They’ll be tested on their knowledge of what the biggest meal is in most Spanish-speaking countries, names for food and drink items, what “buen provecho” means (“enjoy your meal”), and their knowledge of the bold items below (although we have gone over all of the following):
I eat- Yo como
You (informal) eat- Tú comes
You (formal), he, she eats – Usted, él, ella come
I want- Yo quiero
You (informal) want- Tú quieres
You (formal), he, she wants – Usted, él, ella quiere
Last, for speaking, students will need to be able to “order” a food item, say what food they like or prefer, and/or use manners (like “thank you, you’re welcome, please”) in Spanish, all like they did in our in-class restaurant skits.
Muchas gracias, and let me know if you have any questions,
