Welcome to

Our Learning Community!

We are delighted to start the year together.

As members of our community arrive on Tuesday, they will find a “tool box” at their seats.

We’ve carefully chosen the following items to start each tool box.

Silly Band: for keeping a sense of humor, even when things seem tight, or you feel like you’re under pressure.

Text Bubble Paper Clip: to remind you to “clip your lips” when you’re tempted to say something you might regret, speak negatively about someone else, or dominate a discussion.

Toothpick: to remind you to “pick out” the good or positive qualities in everyone, including yourself!

Band-Aid: to remind you to heal hurt feelings, either yours or those of someone else

Sweet-Tarts: We know life can bring sweet & tart moments; A little something sweet to get you through those tart times

Gold Thread: to remind you that friendship is the golden thread that weaves our learning community together

Eraser: to remind you that everyone makes mistakes; be sure to mine yours for the lessons hidden within (they are there!)

Pencil Grip: this year is sure to be an adventure – hang on!

Lifesaver: to remind you to think of our classroom learning community as your “life saver”. When things get tough, or you’re feeling less than your best, reach for us!

Puzzle Piece: to remind you that you not only “fit” perfectly within our classroom community, but that without you, our community is incomplete.

Stars: to remind you, above all, to believe in yourself and let your strengths shine!

As we share time together, exploring, questioning, connecting and learning,

we will continue to add tools to our individual & collective “tool boxes”.

Here’s to a GREAT year!
