Puppy Mills

Did you know that in most states, puppy mills are not illegal,

when they should be?

What is a puppy mill? Puppy mills are evil, cruel places.

You are supporting them just by buying a dog from a pet store.  Most stores, unless they specifically say they are from an animal shelter.

In puppy mills, dogs are trapped in small cages and most of them have never set foot on the ground.  Some of them don’t even have food or water.  They are bred until they can’t reproduce anymore, and then they are killed.  Brutally.

Why would someone do this to innocent little dogs?  Puppy mill owners have just one thing on their minds.  Profit. Profit, profit, profit.  Profit is put over the health, life and safety of the dogs.  Puppy mills are filthy and crawling with disease.

Sign and stop.

YOU can make the change to these poor, mistreated, innocent animals.

ISS Question

Since plants don’t use oxygen, if people planted them on a different planet that is hit by the sun and has frozen water, would they grow, survive, and eventually create another planet where life is sustainable?

My Wonder Journey

It feels like a long time ago, when I started my wonder, but it has really only been a few months.  I started out with hunger.  Things were going pretty slowly. I had only found a small handfull of steady facts.  When I worked on it, I got bored and couldn’t wait to be done. When my teacher announced we were going to write an essay on our Wonder soon, I panicked and relized I definetly didn’t have enough information. I decided it was time to change it. So I changed it to how a computer works.  I was interested in a new, fresh topic and before I knew it, I had so much information, I had a really hard time deciding what to put into my essay!

I’d love to know what you think of this post, my wonder, and my blog.  Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this.

Today’s Question

  • What efforts have you made to address your Wonder this week?
  • I have changed my wonder, so I really had to dig into my new one. I would say I made a 3.5 out of 4, if four was the best.
  • What achievements have you made?
  • I have found out the major parts of a computer. I’d say in acheivment I got a 2.7 out of 4.
  • How would you score yourself for each?
  • Like I said, 3.5 then 2.7
  • Reflecting on our discussion in class, what “tweaks” might make this rubric work better for you?
    • What if the end column wasn’t the end point?
    • I think for our class personally, we should add an Overall. So basically “I dislike the topic. I am somewhat interested in the topic.  I am interested in the topic”  Something to help you analyze your interest would be great.
    • How might it better reflect your efforts to reach further, dig deeper, question more critically…?
    • We should add a number five “Above and beyond”
