About Mrs. Fitz

June 30th, 2009

I am very excited to kick off the new year with all of you.  I am looking forward to having all of my sixth graders for another year, and I am thrilled to get to know my new upcoming fifth graders.  Every year, I look forward to working in such a wonderful building with amazing students, parents, and staff.  This will be my 13th year here at BCS and my 16th year teaching total.

What seemed like a short while ago, I attended and graduated from Albion College with a degree in elementary ed, and English.  A few years following, I received my masters in Reading and Language Arts from Oakland University.  I have also had the opportunity to participate in many other curriculum-related enrichment programs, which has kept me up-to-date with all of the new, cutting-edge curriculum.  I am excited to be attending a 21st Century Learning Seminar in Boston at the end of the month.

Additionally, I have been married for 12 years to my husband, Brian, who is the Vice Principal in Bloomfield.  Together, we have two daughters, Mackenzie 7 and Erin 5.  This fall, Mackenzie will be going into third grade and Erin will be in first.  They enjoy swimming, playing outside, and spending time at our cottage up north.

I look forward to seeing all of you soon!
